registration for the spring session is now open
This will be a seven week session, starting the week of March 12th and ending the week of April 30th. With a break week during the week of April 2nd for Spring break.
Classes are offered Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning as well as Wednesday afternoon.
If you are registering multiple children during your order process, please ensure that you have the appropriate quantity in your cart at check out i.e., 2 children = 2. If you are registering more than one child in the same class, please include the additional children’s names and birthdates in the “Notes” section of the registration form and ensure you have the appropriate quantity in your cart.

An Outdoor Nature Program
Explorers is VPP’s outdoor nature program and is taught by credentialed Early Childhood Teachers and a California Naturalist. Classes are designed for children and their parent or caregiver to learn, grow, and explore the beautiful outdoors together. Each session allows families to spend time outside together (rain or shine!) while enjoying age appropriate songs, stories, games, art, and hikes at local nature areas. Classes are open to all families in the community as well VPP members. A list of class locations will be sent out a week prior to the start of class. Class locations are typically within 35 minutes of our school in Danville and often repeat from session to session as the seasons change the landscape and surroundings each time. It's always a new adventure!
Valley Parent Preschool is licensed by the state of California, license # 073400683. Our highly qualified teachers meet and exceed all California requirements for Early Childhood Teachers, including fingerprinting and background checks, and they are trained regularly in CPR and wilderness first aide. All VPP teachers are vaccinated and boosted for Covid-19.

Typical Class Days, Times & Ages
Tuesday 10:00-11:30 AM (Little)
Wednesday 10:00-11:30 AM (Combo)

The Tuesday morning class is geared towards children who are walking well (18 months or so) through 3 years old. The Wednesday afternoon class is geared towards 3-6 year olds. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning are combo classes and all ages are welcome.
Younger siblings are always welcome to attend as well. We ask that they register for their own spot in class once they are walking well and participating in class, typically around 18 months.
Covid Policies
Unless the county or state issues an outdoor mask mandate, masks are optional for children and adults.
We ask that families only attend class when healthy and that you wait until you have been symptom free for a minimum of 72 hours before returning to class. We are happy to offer a complimentary same session make up class in the event of illness.
Please follow the CDC recommendations before returning to class.
Fire Safety and Air Quality
If classes need to be canceled due to wildfires or unsafe air quality, we will reschedule for a different day or offer an indoor alternative. Rescheduled classes may be at a different time and place in order to provide a safe alternative. Because we offer our classes at the lowest prices possible, we are unfortunately not able to offer refunds or session transfers due to air quality. We will, however, always offer an equal amount of make up options so families receive a complete and wonderful session!
Tuition
$165 for 5 weeks, or $231 for 7 weeks
Please note that in order to properly plan and staff our classes, tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Class locations are mostly located in Dublin, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, Sunol, Hayward, Castro Valley and other nearby cities within 35 minutes of Danville.
A class for every age and stage
Explorers classes are usually broken into two age groups: Little Explorers for walking toddlers through 3's and Big Explorers for 3's through age 6ish. We are flexible on ages and welcome families to enroll in a class that works well for them.
Big Explorers : Ages 3 to 6
Big Explorers is for 3 - 6ish year old children who love to explore outdoors! This class is geared towards the growing preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary age child, however siblings are welcome to attend. Please register children ages 18 months and older for their own class spot. Classes are an hour and a half and start and end with a circle time where we sing songs and enjoy a story together. During class we take hikes, play games, enjoy nature activities, and play in creeks and mud.
Little Explorers : walking toddlers - 3's
We have found children enjoy the class most when they are able to walk quite a ways on their own and enjoy being in nature in all types of weather. Baby siblings are welcome to attend at no cost in a sling or carrier. No older siblings please. Please register children who are walking well for their own spot in class. Classes are 75-90 minutes and start and end with a short circle time where we sing songs and enjoy a story together. During class we take short hikes, play simple games, enjoy nature and art activities, and play in creeks and mud.

VPP is a leader in early childhood education and pictures taken during class may be used for both teaching and marketing purposes.
Tuesday Little Explorers meets on Tuesday mornings from 10:00-11:30 AM. This is a class geared towards walking toddlers through three years olds. Classes will be held on Tuesday mornings the weeks of March 12th, March 19th, March 26th, Apr 9th, Apr 16th, Apr 23rd and Apr 30th (with a break week for spring break the week of April 2nd).
